San Leandro tenants need a union. In the next few months the city council will be voting on how much to allow rent hikes as well as other tenants protections.
Because of the tech boom and a shortage of housing, Bay Area tenants pay rents that are 68 percent higher than the national average .At the same time the rest of the country is already experiencing a rent and housing crisis with Wall Street pushing up rents through techniques like AI (see stories about Real Page).More than ever tenants need. to stick together and let the city council know that the rents are already too damn high.
Files coming soon.
The city has scheduled 2 community meetings, one online on Aug.28 at 6 pm , the other at the Senior Center on E14th St. also at 6 pm on Sept. 4th.
The goal is to get input from the stakeholders, tenants, landlords and the community at large
